Two classic albums for the first time on compact disc!
With the recent global events that brought touring and recording nearly to a stop, we here at Swelltune records suddenly had an excess of time on our hands. So, we started to clean and organize things at Jet-Tone Studios, and look what we found... The master tapes for a classic surf album and a compilation album of single tracks, demos, and cover tunes never before released in this format from the one and only Shaun Young!
Surfin’ Songs for Shut-Ins is chock full of full tilt surf guitar goodies and a few fun in the sun vocal tunes to boot!
From The Vault is a collection of a wide array of styles and influences from the Texan-turned-New Englander… straight country to full out rock & roll, and of course the rockabilly he is known for world-wide.
Also making these tracks more abnormal is the magic of multiple track recording. Shaun plays all the instruments and does all the singing on a large majority of these recently unearthed tapes!
